Case binate / Detached Houses

Le cinque case d’abitazione, in un quartiere residenziale progettato da più architetti, sono disposte in modo da costituire una stretta via pedonale. Orientate in direzione nord-sud, le case hanno un fronte vetrato sul giardino nella parte sud. Sul percorso pedonale, a nord, si affaccia un fronte più chiuso e continuo di fronte alle case progettate sull’altro lato della via dall’architetto Umberto Riva. Il sistema a case abbinate è costituito da coppie di case costruite una accanto all’altra con un muro in condivisione che le separa.

The five houses, in a residential quarter designed by more architects, are arranged so as to define a narrow pedestrian street. Oriented according to the north-south direction, these dwellings present a glass front onto the garden in the south section. A narrower continuous front overlooks the pedestrian path to the north, opposite the houses planned by the architect Umberto Riva on the other side of the street. The detached house system is composed of pairs of houses built next to each other with a sharing wall which separates them.
