Il progetto relativo all’area dei cantieri navali dismessi a sud della stazione ferroviaria, assecondando le aspirazioni alla manhattanizzazione di Francoforte, ripropone una griglia e un’edificazione a blocchi. Un sistema di tracciati regolari a formare un griglia di 30×60 metri genera blocchi di 20×40 metri alti sei piani. I blocchi esprimono un carattere omogeneo, proprio per identificare un fatto urbano unitario, ma si articolano rispetto alle differenti condizioni in cui sono collocati: sul fronte strada, sui giardini, sull’acqua. Operato nel rigoroso modello proposto, un lavoro di diradamento e densificazione che innalza i blocchi sugli assi insediativi genera una struttura urbana regolare, ma variata, per definire spazi aperti, giardini e viali.

The project relating to the area of the disused shipyards to the south of the railway station, going along with the aspirations to the Manhattanization of Frankfurt, again proposes a grid and a structure of blocks. A system of regular layouts forming a grid of 30 x 60 metres generates six-storey-high blocks of 20 x 40 metres. The blocks present a homogeneous character, precisely in order to create a unitary urban structure, but are articulated with respect to the different conditions in which they are located: on the street front, facing onto the gardens, onto the water. A work of thinning out and densification of the rigorous model proposed that raises the blocks above the axes of the city’s layout generates a regular but varied urban structure, defining open spaces, gardens and avenues.
